Background
  • The Silk Road Economic Belt & The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road aims to grow strong economic partnerships between China and countries and regions in the Belt & Road areas.
  • It also aims to develop a community of shared interests and shared future for Asia, Africa and Europe in the new era.
Teaching
Objectives
  • This programme is offered for students who are high school graduates and are not native Chinese speakers.
  • It aims to develop high-level interdisciplinary talent with communicative skills in Chinese for speaking and writing, knowledge about economics, management and social science, and abilities for cross-cultural communication and management.
  • Upon graduation, students will become professional talent who are competent for business activities with China.

Requirement
  • The applicant has completed upper secondary education;
  • The applicant holds the transcript(s) showing that he/she has studied and passed certain compulsory subject(s) during upper secondary education;
  • The applicant has had the compulsory subjects of secondary education delivered in Chinese, or holds either an HSK certificate, an IFP’s Chinese Entry Test Report Form or other official certification showing that he/she has achieved the required Chinese level.

Scholarships
  • Having met the IFP entry requirement, students should meet the following requirements for scholarship application:
  • Completion of upper secondary education with average score of 75% or above*;
  • Aaverage score of at least 75% for final result and CAP in IFP for applying for scholarships covering full tuition or more;
  • A letter of recommendation from president of high school or subject teacher;
  • Personal statement;
  • Have passed the entry assessment of interview**.

* Depending on individual academic background and university system in the candidate’s home country.

** Applicants for TJU programmes are suggested to submit video recording of the interview for achieving the highest score in this part.

Engineering

  • China has some of the world’s top chemical companies such as SINOPEC, a leading petrochemical company, and CHEMCHINA, China’s largest chemical company for new chemical materials and other equipment.

  • This programme aims to develop top talents in engineering science and technology with modern scientific literacy, knowledge about liberal arts, sense of social responsibility and professional morality in addition to the mastery of basic theories and professional skills of chemical and related disciplines.

  • This programme aims to develop highly qualified talents to serve the needs of economic and social development.
  • Students are expected to master the basic knowledge of natural science and knowledge of software engineering, in addition to the basic knowledge of big data, cloud computing, IoT application, AI, etc.
  • They also need to have global insights, innovative mentality and practical skills so as to fit in with the development of new technology, industry and economy. They should be able to be engaged in software development, research, management or pursue further study in this area or adjacencies.
