Background
- The Silk Road Economic Belt & The 21st Century Maritime Silk Road aims to grow strong economic partnerships between China and countries and regions in the Belt & Road areas.
- It also aims to develop a community of shared interests and shared future for Asia, Africa and Europe in the new era.
Objectives
- This programme is offered for students who are high school graduates and are not native Chinese speakers.
- It aims to develop high-level interdisciplinary talent with communicative skills in Chinese for speaking and writing, knowledge about economics, management and social science, and abilities for cross-cultural communication and management.
- Upon graduation, students will become professional talent who are competent for business activities with China.

Requirement
- The applicant has completed upper secondary education;
- The applicant holds the transcript(s) showing that he/she has studied and passed certain compulsory subject(s) during upper secondary education;
- The applicant has had the compulsory subjects of secondary education delivered in Chinese, or holds either an HSK certificate, an IFP’s Chinese Entry Test Report Form or other official certification showing that he/she has achieved the required Chinese level.
Scholarships
- Having met the IFP entry requirement, students should meet the following requirements for scholarship application:
- Completion of upper secondary education with average score of 75% or above*;
- Aaverage score of at least 75% for final result and CAP in IFP for applying for scholarships covering full tuition or more;
- A letter of recommendation from president of high school or subject teacher;
- Personal statement;
- Have passed the entry assessment of interview**.
* Depending on individual academic background and university system in the candidate’s home country.
** Applicants for TJU programmes are suggested to submit video recording of the interview for achieving the highest score in this part.

Engineering

Background
- China’s share of global chemical sales volume will continue to expand in 2030, and it is predicted that China’s chemical product sales will account for nearly 50% of global sales.
- China has some of the world’s top chemical companies such as SINOPEC, a leading petrochemical company, and CHEMCHINA, China’s largest chemical company for new chemical materials and other equipment.

- This programme aims to develop top talents in engineering science and technology with modern scientific literacy, knowledge about liberal arts, sense of social responsibility and professional morality in addition to the mastery of basic theories and professional skills of chemical and related disciplines.
- Students will be equipped with global insights, innovative mentality and practical capabilities, contributing to the advancement of chemical engineering, energy, material, environment, etc.

- Information Technology, such as Internet, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence etc., has profound impact on world production and people’s lifestyle. Software is core to all technical and social development.
- The market volume of China’s software business continues to grow, with leading players such as Huawei and Tik Tok expanding their market globally.

- This programme aims to develop highly qualified talents to serve the needs of economic and social development.
- Students are expected to master the basic knowledge of natural science and knowledge of software engineering, in addition to the basic knowledge of big data, cloud computing, IoT application, AI, etc.
- They also need to have global insights, innovative mentality and practical skills so as to fit in with the development of new technology, industry and economy. They should be able to be engaged in software development, research, management or pursue further study in this area or adjacencies.

- The development of cross-border eCommerce is transforming the landscape of international trade, with huge impact brought by the advancement of digital technologies.
- Driven by the development in China, the Asia Pacific region will become the largest eCommerce market for both imports and exports.
Outcomes
- This programme aims to develop first-class talents specialized in economics and management with a global perspective through liberal-based and wide-ranged professional education.
- It also aims to develop interdisciplinary practical talents, who know China, are friendly to China and love China. Upon graduation, students will be able to work in the areas of economics and management for various enterprises, government and relative government departments around the world. These talents will have a good sense of social responsibility, humanistic and scientific literacy, strong learning and researching ability, innovative spirit and practical ability.

- The development of cross-border eCommerce is transforming the landscape of international trade, with huge impact brought by the advancement of digital technologies.

- This MBA programme aims to develop interdisciplinary management and entrepreneurial talents to for the application of cross-border eCommerce.
- Students of this programme are expected to master the basic theories, knowledge and skills of business management and cross-border eCommerce, and graduate as interdisciplinary management and business talents in the field of cross-border eCommerce.
- MBA students are required to acquire basis management theories and knowledge about business and computer science.

- The applicant is eligible for specific IFP streams per his/her field of study during higher education;
- The applicant has had the programme of higher education delivered in Chinese, or holds either an HSK certificate, an IFP’s Chinese Entry Test Report Form or other official certification showing that he/she has achieved the following Chinese level where necessary.
Scholarships
- Having met the IFP entry requirement, students should meet the following requirements for UEA Scholarship application:
– Completion of upper secondary education with average score of 75% or above;
– Average score of 75% or above for final result and CAP in IFP;
– Two letters of recommendation from professor of university or associated professor;
– Personal statement.
