Highlights of CCN “Future with China” Beijing-Zhenjiang-Shanghai Summer Camps

This past week marked the end of two CCN “Future with China” Summer Camps, wrapping up an unforgettable journey for 102 Russian middle and high school students and their 10 accompanying teachers. The first group of 68 students and 7 teachers spent four weeks traveling from Beijing to Nanjing, Zhenjiang, and finally Shanghai. In the latter part of the journey, they were joined by the second group of 34 students and 3 teachers in Zhenjiang, from where both groups shared the final stages of this enriching experience together.
上周，随着最后两个CCN“未来与中国”夏令营项目的圆满结束，102名俄罗斯中学生和高中生及其10位随行教师的难忘旅程也告一段落。第一组68名学生和7位教师用了四周时间，从北京出发，游历了南京、镇江，最终抵达上海。在旅程的后半段，第二组34名学生和3位教师在镇江与第一组会合，随后两组学生共同度过了这段充实而丰富的体验。
Language Learning and Cultural Immersion | 语言学习与文化融入
Throughout their stay, students engaged in intensive Chinese language studies, with classes tailored to their varying levels of proficiency, from 0 to HSK4 level. They focused on grammar, writing, and speaking, all under the guidance of professional Chinese teachers who ensured they mastered authentic pronunciation. Interactive lessons were filled with fun games, making the learning process enjoyable and effective.
在整个夏令营期间，学生们参与了强化汉语学习，课程根据他们不同的语言水平量身定制，从零基础到HSK4级。学生们专注于语法、写作和口语练习，在专业汉语教师的指导下，确保他们掌握地道的发音。互动课程充满了有趣的游戏，使学习过程既愉快又高效。
In addition to their language studies, students fully immersed themselves in traditional Chinese crafts and cultural experiences. They practiced martial arts, with one of the classes specifically focusing on Yongchun, the style made internationally famous by the Ip Man movies. In tribute to the recent Summer Olympic Games in Paris, the students also tried their hand at Pingpong. They honed their skills in Chinese calligraphy and painting, and explored the intricate arts of paper cutting and Chinese knot tying.
除了语言学习之外，学生们还全身心投入到了中国传统工艺和文化体验中。他们练习了武术，其中一节课特别专注于咏春拳，这种风格因叶问电影而享誉国际。为致敬最近在巴黎举行的夏季奥运会，学生们还尝试了乒乓球运动。他们磨练了中国书法和绘画的技巧，并探索了剪纸和中国结的精湛艺术。
A particularly memorable experience was learning about traditional Chinese Hanfu dresses, which they had the opportunity to wear while practicing traditional dancing moves. Culinary adventures were another highlight of the summer camp, with students sampling a variety of Chinese dishes and even making Qingtuan (green rice balls) themselves. Additionally, they gained an appreciation for the significance of tea in Chinese culture through participation in a traditional tea ceremony.
一个特别难忘的体验是学习中国传统的汉服，他们不仅有机会穿上汉服，还在穿着时练习了传统舞蹈动作。烹饪冒险也是夏令营的一大亮点，学生们品尝了各种中国菜，甚至亲手制作了青团（绿团子）。此外，他们通过参与传统茶道，进一步理解了茶在中国文化中的重要性。
Sightseeing Adventures | 观光体验
The four-week adventure kicked off in the vibrant city of Beijing, where students were immersed in the rich tapestry of Chinese history and culture. They marveled at the diverse wildlife at the Beijing Zoo and stepped into the world of traditional Chinese performing arts at Fu Liancheng, the birthplace of Beijing Opera. Their journey through history continued with a visit to the serene Summer Palace, where they wandered through its lush gardens and intricate pavilions. No trip to Beijing would be complete without scaling the ancient steps of the Great Wall, an experience that left the students in awe of its grandeur. The Olympic Stadium, with its iconic Water Cube and Bird’s Nest, offered a glimpse into modern China’s achievements, while the majestic Temple of Heaven provided a peaceful moment of reflection amidst the city’s hustle and bustle.

The journey took an intriguing turn in Zhenjiang, where both groups converged to uncover the secrets of traditional Chinese vinegar at the Vinegar Culture Museum, learning about the ancient techniques that have been passed down through generations.

University Visits | 大学参观
During their stay, the students had the opportunity to visit and stay at four renowned CCN Member Universities: University of International Business and Economics, Southeast University, Jiangsu University, and Shanghai University. Each campus offered a unique glimpse into the vibrant academic life in China. The students were not just passive observers; they actively engaged with both Chinese and international students, exchanging ideas, sharing experiences, and building connections. These interactions provided them with a firsthand understanding of what it truly means to study in China, enriching their perspectives and sparking new aspirations for their own academic futures.

Understanding China’s Digital Transformation | 体验数字中国
The students also had the unique opportunity to observe and understand China’s rapid digital transformation. They visited major Chinese companies, including JD Logistics Smart Park and Nanjing NAVECO Import & Export Co., Ltd. The experience culminated in a final competition where students presented their findings and conclusions about the impact of digital transformation on various industries.
学生们还获得了一个独特的机会，观察并了解中国快速的数字化转型。他们参观了中国主要的企业，包括京东物流智慧园区和南京南汽进出口有限公司。这次体验最终以一场竞赛收尾，学生们在竞赛中展示了他们对数字化转型对各行业影响的发现和结论。

We hope this summer camp provided a truly enriching experience, filled with learning and exciting new adventures. In 2024, over 170 students from Russia and Vietnam came to China through 6 CCN winter and summer camps, allowing them to see modern and highly developed China, experience Chinese culture, visit CCN universities, deepen their love and longing for China, and become ambassadors for cultural exchange and educational dissemination between the two countries.
2024年，来自俄罗斯、越南的超过170名学生通过6个CCN举办的冬令营、夏令营项目，来到中国，让他们看到现代的、高度发展的中国，接触中国文化，参观联盟高校，加深他们对中国的喜爱和向往，使他们成为两国文化交流和教育传播的使者。
