As the winter holidays unfolded, a group of 30 adventurous Russian high school students with accompanying teachers came to spend their New Year and Christmas break in China, participating in the “Future with China” Winter Camps organized by China Campus Network (CCN). This time around, the students could choose between 2 distinct journeys—one exploring the Tale of Two Cities in Shanghai and Hangzhou from January 4th to 15th, and the other delving into Tradition and Modernity of Guangzhou from January 4th to 14th.
随着冬日的到来，一群30名充满冒险精神的俄罗斯高中学生及陪同老师们来到中国，参加了由留学中国预科教育联盟（CCN）组织的“与中国的未来”冬令营。这一次，学生们可以选择两个不同的行程之一——一个是从1月4日到15日探索上海和杭州的“双城记”之旅，另一个则深入了解广州的“传统与现代”之旅，时间是从1月4日到14日。
CCN’s “Future with China” Camps are designed to provide students with a unique and tailored experience, encompassing five key modules that promise a lifetime of memories – Chinese Language, University Life, Cultural China, Sight Seeing and Competition. While both camps share common goals, the two different locations contributed their own unique elements to each group’s educational adventure.
CCN的“与中国的未来”营地旨在为学生提供独特而个性化的体验，包括五个关键模块——中文语言、大学生活、中国文化、观光旅游和竞赛，承诺留下一生的回忆。虽然两个营地有着共同的目标，但两个不同的地点为每个小组的教育之旅增添了独特的元素。
The Tale of Two Cities: Shanghai-Hangzhou Winter Camp

The enchanting Tale of Two Cities Shanghai-Hangzhou Winter Camp commenced in the cosmopolitan heart of Shanghai, where participants delved into immersive Mandarin language sessions and cultural activities including Taijiquan, Chinese painting, Calligraphy, the traditional art of knot-making, Jiaozi cooking class and a ceremonial tea experience. The academic adventures continued with the visit to Shanghai University, one of leading universities in China, where students gained insights into China’s innovative spirit, and learned about possible prospects for studying in China in their future.
妩媚的“双城记”——上海-杭州冬令营，在上海这个国际大都市的中心展开。参与者深入沉浸式的普通话语言课程和文化活动，其中包括太极拳、中国绘画、书法、传统的结绳艺术、饺子烹饪课和茶道仪式。学术冒险随后继续，他们参观了上海大学，中国的一所领先大学之一，学生们深入了解中国的创新精神，了解了未来在中国学习的可能前景。
Beyond the classroom, students embraced the vibrant lifestyle of a bustling metropolis, navigating the world-renowned Shanghai metro, taking city strolls, and soaking in the atmosphere amid remarkable architectural marvels. Notable landmarks included visits to the Shanghai Planning Museum, City God Temple, Yu Garden, and the awe-inspiring Jin Mao Tower.
走出教室，学生们拥抱着这座繁华都市的生活方式，穿梭在世界著名的上海地铁中，漫步在城市街道上，在令人惊叹的建筑奇迹中感受氛围。值得一提的地标包括上海规划展览馆、城隍庙、豫园以及令人惊叹的金茂大厦。
Following an engaging week in Shanghai, the students embarked on a swift journey via the world-famous Chinese bullet train, covering the 200 km distance to the picturesque city of Hangzhou in just over 40 minutes. Transitioning from the iconic skyline of Shanghai to the tranquil beauty of West Lake, the exploration extended to nearby attractions such as the Silk Museum, Great Canal, and charming streets adorned with architectural inspirations from old Chinese dynasties.
在上海度过了一个充实的星期后，学生们乘坐世界著名的中国高铁，仅用40多分钟就覆盖了200公里的路程，迅速抵达风景如画的杭州。从上海标志性的天际线过渡到西湖宁静的美景，他们的探险延伸到附近的景点，如丝绸博物馆、大运河以及点缀着古老中国王朝建筑灵感的迷人街道。
Culminating in a splendid Farewell Banquet featuring roast lamb, the Tale of Two Cities reached its beautiful conclusion as the group departed with not only enhanced linguistic proficiency but also a deep and nuanced understanding of both ancient and modern China.
在以烤羊为主题的精彩告别宴会中达到高潮，双城记在这美好的结束中告一段落。整个团队离开时，他们不仅拥有了更高水平的语言能力，还对古老和现代中国有了深刻而细致入微的理解。
Fusion of Tradition and Modernity: Guangzhou Winter Camp

The captivating narrative of the Tradition and Modernity of Guangzhou Winter Camp unfolded against the vibrant backdrop of this culturally rich city, where spring temperatures hovered around a pleasant 25 degrees. Commencing their linguistic exploration at the distinguished South China University of Technology, students immersed themselves in Mandarin language sessions covering diverse and engaging topics, from everyday greetings and currency to transportation, shopping, travel, and discussions about weather. This not only equipped them to communicate effectively in simple Chinese but also fostered language confidence as they explored the campus and ventured into city excursions, forging friendships with local Chinese students. Beside the language courses, specialized teachers also prepared engaging cultural activities, including Martial Arts – Wing Chun, Hanfu dressing, singing of Chinese songs and making of Lingnan Handicrafts.

After class hours, students seamlessly integrated into the daily rhythm of the city, embarking on evening city walks, indulging in shopping escapades, sampling delectable Cantonese snacks, and developing a newfound appreciation for the ubiquitous bubble tea. Guided tours unveiled the historical tapestry of Guangzhou, exploring its significance as a historic trading hub. Highlights included visits to architectural wonders like Huacheng Square with a superb view of the Canton Tower, the culturally rich Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, the iconic Five Sheep Statue, and participating in a mesmerizing Pearl River Night Tour. The exploration extended to intriguing institutions such as the Guangzhou Museum, the Museum of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum. Strolling through the charming historical areas of Shawan Ancient Town and Yongqing Fang alleyways added a touch of traditional nostalgia to the immersive experience.
课后，学生们无缝地融入了城市的日常节奏，开始了傍晚的城市漫步，尽情享受购物狂欢，品尝美味的广东小吃，培养对无处不在的珍珠奶茶的新欣赏。导游带领下，他们揭开了广州历史的篇章，探索其作为历史悠久的贸易中心的重要性。亮点包括参观华城广场，欣赏坐拥绝佳视野的广州塔，文化丰富的陈家祠堂，标志性的五羊雕塑，以及参与令人陶醉的珠江夜游。探险还延伸到引人入胜的机构，如广州博物馆、中国传统医药博物馆和粤剧艺术博物馆。漫步在沙湾古镇和永庆坊巷道的迷人历史区域，为沉浸式的体验增添了一抹传统怀旧的色彩。
Concluding with a memorable trip to the Nanfeng Guzao Site, the Guangzhou winter camp marked the end of a 10-day journey brimming with new experiences and lasting friendships. As students returned home, they carried not only enhanced linguistic proficiency but also a profound and nuanced understanding of Guangzhou’s historical significance, its vibrant cultural heritage, and its dynamic standing as a modern city.
在难忘的南风古灶之行中画上句点，广州冬令营标志着一个充满新体验和持久友谊的10天之旅的结束。学生们回家时，不仅携带着提升的语言技能，还带着对广州历史重要性、丰富文化遗产以及其作为现代城市的活力地位的深刻而细致入微的理解。
CCN’s “Future with China” Camps not only provide a refreshing break from the ordinary but also ensure an educational journey characterized by a harmonious blend of enjoyment, learning, and meaningful cultural exchange. As the winter camps leave a trail of enriched experiences and lasting memories, the anticipation for upcoming spring and summer programs is palpable.
